Travel guidance to Frankfurt, Germany

It is your own responsibility to ensure you have organised flights, accommodation, and a visa if required.

Australian passport holders can enter Germany visa-free for business stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure date from Europe. For all other passport holders, please check whether you require a Schengen visa prior to departure via the German Federal Foreign Office.

European Entry/Exit System (EES): Now operational since April 2026, the EES requires all non-EU travellers to register biometric details (fingerprints and a facial photo) at passport control upon arrival. This is handled at the border and requires no action from you in advance, however you should expect additional processing time at immigration.

A reminder to secure passports/valuables, maintain digital copies of travel documents, and report lost passports immediately to the Consulate.
